10 days Charter Martinique to Grenadines

Cruises idea

Marina du port du marin Martinique

It is not always easy to be able to  take 10 days holidays. However, this is the recommended duration if you wish to fully enjoy the many anchorages available during your catamaran cruise in the Grenadines.

If you are leaving with a skipper, one of the advantages is that you can leave on the evening of your arrival and thus save time. An 8/9 day cruise will then be possible. Some Yatch charter company offer ⅞ days charter to The Grenadines but you might comes back a bit frustrated;)

St. Vincent and The Grenadines

You will find here an idea of a bareboat charter, knowing that my best advice is not to program too much. Once in the Grenadines, the distances are very short (less than 10 miles). The program must above all be done according to your desires, and of course the weather;). No need to try to see everything, 10 days may be too short for your taste, but you will benefit from a nice discount for a next cruise with Mermer Location Martinique Yatch Charter ;).

Day 0 :
Departure for the cruise
in the Grenadines Islands

Flights from Europe usually land in Martinique in the late afternoon or early evening. At your request, we can arrange your taxi transfer from the airport to the Marin marina.

Our company Mermer Location is located at the 1st Marina of Le Marin, called "The Old Marina". Our fleet is located at the end of dock number 1, i. e. the first pontoon on the left, facing the sea.

Your online shopping as soon as you arrive in Martinique

If you arrive late, in the week before your catamaran charter to the Grenadines islands, you have the possibility to make your supply online, via "APPRO-ZAGAYA SARL" or "SAILSHOP". This will save you time and allow you to leave the next morning early, once your boat has been handed over. The small supply stores of Le Marin close & around 7pm/20pm. Some of them also deliver your groceries to the dock. We invite you to visit the "Useful Information" tab of the Mermer Location website for more detailed information on the food supply.

Preparing your cruise

We provide some bottles of water and fresh juice, especially in case of late landing. Your catamaran will be waiting for you, lit by its lights at the end of the dock. The next morning, we will make the check in together, with rigour, professionalism and, of course, good humour! At this moment we will reveal to you the good addresses, contact and advice that will make of your catamaran charter from Martinique to the Grenadines an unforgettable moment;)

Day 1: Saint Lucia

Once the customs formalities have been completed, your cruise starts and four hours of navigation will allow you to reach the island of Saint-Lucie where several anchorages are possible:

Rodney bay (24 miles from Le Marin, Martinique) the northernmost anchorage on the island is very sheltered. You will find a marina and all the facilities to withdraw local currency (Eastern Caribbean dollars), as well as to carry out your customs formalities.

VISIT OF THE PIRATE SPOT, COCKTAIL TASTING

At 1 hour and a half of navigation further south is the famous Marigot Bay cove, a former pirate's lair where you can enjoy delicious cocktails in an enchanting and warm setting.

If you are looking for peace and quiet, you can anchor at Anse Cochon or go down to the "reserve of the two Piton".

Keep in mind that the further south you go from Saint Lucia, the shorter the next crossing to the Grenadines will be!

Day 2: Bequia

In the early morning, you will sail the longest leg of your cruise between Saint Lucia and Bequia (about 60 miles), the island of entry to the Grenadines. Although the Saint Vincent Canal can sometimes be quite hectic, you will quickly reach the calm by following the wild coast of Saint Vincent. Ideal for lunch before arriving in Bequia in the early afternoon.

VISIT TO THE VILLAGE OF PORT ELIZABETH

Once anchored in Admiralty Bay, you can enjoy the beach or the charming and colourful village of Port Elizabeth. A customs post will allow you to make your entry.

Day 3: Mayreau

Three short hours of sailing will take you to Mayreau, a small island with less than 500 inhabitants. That's it, the less sailors will be able to breathe! From now on, there will be no more long sailing.

The Salt whistle bay anchorage will allow you to fully enjoy the sea.

The Tobago Cays

Located less than 2 miles upwind of Mayreau, Tobago Cays Natural Reserve offers a breathtaking setting! Plan to arrive under clear skies to fully enjoy the beauty of the area. Many anchorages are possible in the lagoon and local fishermen can prepare grills for you, especially freshly caught lobsters that you will remember all your life!

SWIM IN A NATURAL AQUARIUM

In depths of less than 2 metres, you will swim in a real natural aquarium where you will be as close as possible to turtles, rays and multicoloured fish.

(Clifton)

After a final swim, you can head to Union Island (less than 4 miles) in Clifton Bay.

The local market is to be seen! It will only take you a few minutes to experience the island's unique atmosphere.

KITE, CLIMBING THE TOP OF THE ISLAND

The opportunity to take a kite course with our partner KITE TRIP GRENADINE, or to climb the top of the island (very fast). Indeed, a walk of a few minutes will take you to a very nice panoramic view of the Grenadines island and its surroundings. Feel free to have a last drink on "Happy Island"; a small island transformed into a bar, located behind the coral reef protecting Clifton Bay.

Day 6 :
Petit Saint Vincent

Fewer customers are travelling further south of Union Island. And yet, just 4 nautical miles away, there is an island Hotel with one of the most beautiful beache. On the way to Petit Saint-Vincent, you will have time to stop on Palm Island and Morpion Island, a charming sandbar.

COCKTAIL TASTING

You can admire the sunset while enjoying delicious cocktails at the hotel's luxurious bar.

It is one of the bays that will mark your stay. You can enjoy the large beach or pretty snorkeling, and also eat in one or more straw huts on the beach.

Day 8: Saint-
Vincent

Departure in the morning at the earliest to reach Saint Vincent (45 miles), where you can anchor in the wild bay of Cumberland. A boat boy will take you to Walilabu to complete your exit formalities (i will give you some contact during the chack-in). The depth of the bay means that you have to anchor abnormally close to the beach, then moor with a coconut tree.

VOLCANO ASCENT

For the more sporty and depending on your length of stay, you can organize, with the help of the locals, the ascent of the volcano of Saint-Vincent or a trip to baleine waterfall

Day 9 & 10 :
Return to Martinique

A last long crossing awaits you (75 miles) to spend your last night in Saint Anne. You will walk along Saint Lucia again where you can admire the magical setting of the 2 Pitons.

Half an hour left before your return point, your head full of memories.

This is a non-exhaustive idea of a charter to the Grenadine of everything you can do in 10 days to be adjusted according to the weather conditions. We will be pleased to help you prepare your Charter when we do the check in. Sail the difference with Mermerlocation;)
