After a short navigation, you arrive in the heart of the Grenadines and Canouan will be the first island in your path.
Canouan is only 5.5 km long and 2 km wide, and is located between the island of Union and Mosquito. Its surface area is 8.2km2 and its population +-1200 inhabitants.
The north of the island is mountainous, forested and sparsely urbanized. The South consists of a long peninsula delimiting Charlestown Bay (main village) and where housing and infrastructure (hotels, roads, airport, port...) are concentrated. Two small islets, L'Islot and Canouan Baleine, are located near the southern coast of Canouan. To the east and southeast of the peninsula is a coral reef.
Mermer Advices
Depending on the weather conditions, you can anchor the day in the wind of the island in a place that does not take its name at random: "The Pool"! (banned since 2017)
This anchorage reserved for the catamaran because of its difficult access, will give you a beautiful overview of the waters in a monochrome of blues, which you will find in the coming days. In Canouan, white sandy beaches, scuba diving, golf and casino await you!
