Mayreau

Cruise Destination in the Caribbean

A short hour of sailing separates Canouan from Mayreau, the smallest inhabited island (4km2) in the Grenadines archipelago with less than 300 inhabitants. The island belongs to a Union in the southwest and Canouan in the northeast. To the east are the sandbanks and rocks of the Tobaco Cays.

Did you know?

  • Saline Bay is a small saltwater pond, located just east of the beach. Salt was one of the island's resources and was once exported but is now only used for local demand.

Mermer Advices

The Salt Whistle Bay anchorage is best known for its sandy strip that protects you from the Atlantic swell.
Don't forget to take the walk that leads to the village (15 minutes walk) dominated by an old 1929 Catholic stone church, offers a magnificent view of the Tobago Cays.

Many locals offer grills on the beach and it's a treat! Remember to book in advance!
You can also anchor further south at Saline Bay.

Kitesurfing info: the Salt Whistle Bay spot (Wind kitesurfing for advanced riders)
Another anchorage is possible and really pleasant... remember to ask me when you put it in hand;)
