St. Lucia

Cruise Destination in the Caribbean

The surface area of Saint Lucia is 620 km 2 for a population estimated at +-188000 inhabitants. Castries, its capital, is a popular cruise port. Saint Lucia's coastline includes splendid volcanic beaches, snorkeling and diving spots, luxury resorts and small typical fishing villages. All water sports can be practiced there!

Pitons, waterfalls, natural paths and tropical flowers...very beautiful walks and hikes are to be done. Saint Lucia and its famous sulphide mud baths can also give you a facelift! The island is also famous for its nightlife and Friday Night. The Martiniquans rushed there for the soca and the street parties in Gros-Islet.

Did you know?

Saint Lucia or Lucia of Syracuse, is the only island bearing a woman's name. Indeed, Saint Lucia, virgin and martyr, is illustrated in the history of the Sicilian Church in the 300s.

Mermer Advices

After the start, it is often the first stop to go to the Grenadines. It is not advisable to stay too long on this island if you want to go down to the Grenadines in 10 days. The further south you go, the less time you will have to sail the next day.

I advise you to anchor at Anse Cochon, south of Marigot Bay. This small cove is quite well protected and very quiet. The advantage is that you can leave the next morning as soon as the first rays of sunshine arrive for Bequia ( 55mn).

Commended anchorages

  • Pigeon Iceland,
  • Marigot Bay,
  • Anse La Raye,
  • Anse Pig,
  • The 2 pitons.
